An American study of more than 790 vapor-smokers looked at their consumption profile and its impact on exposure to toxic molecules in tobacco (nitrosamines, acrylamide, aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals, etc.) as well as on markers. biological effects of nicotine consumption. First of all, it turns out that vapor-smokers are first and foremost smokers. Indeed, 70% of them only use the e-cigarette intermittently (that is to say not daily).
In contrast, 7% of vape smokers favor vaping and smoke only intermittently (that is, not every day). The rest are daily or occasional vapers. Unsurprisingly, vape smokers who smoke daily have the greatest exposure to toxic substances in tobacco and in their case, e-cigarettes have virtually no effect. On the other hand, the vapor-smokers the least exposed and presenting the biomarkers of the nicotine intake the lowest, are those who do not smoke daily. The study therefore confirms the need for vapor-smokers to give up smoking cigarettes.
